Sami Village Kefalonia

The picturesque Sami village is located in the east part about half of Kefalonia in a beautiful bay. It is the main port of the island where ships arriving from Italy and towards the mythological Ithaca island and Patras dock. Behind it it is embraced by green and steep mountains with lush vegetation with an intense blue sea that make the landscape fantastic.

The whole area has natural beauties not to be missed, such as the Dragorati Caves, Lake Melissani and the small  Karvamilos lake. Just above the village the ruins of the Sami old city and then up to the Agrillion Monastery which will give you a piece of Kefalonia history and a panorama to be captured.

The Sami village is extremely modern but still has a typically Greek flavor where there is no shortage of traditional taverns where you can taste fresh fish and the delicacies of Hellenic and territorial cuisine, cafés where you can relax for a long coffee (always remember that in Greece the moment coffee is not like we drink and run but it becomes an opportunity to relax), souvenir shops and alleys where you can walk in peace.

For sea lovers, however, Sami offers a small beach about five hundred meters long and narrow, equipped with sunbeds and umbrellas where to spend the day, where the sea is almost always calm and shallow, therefore suitable for families with children. The Antisamis beach was also the film set of the film "Captain Corelli's mandolin".

The Sami village is certainly a good base for visiting the Kefalonia island and also the perfect place for a romantic dinner contemplating at sea when the sun sets making the atmosphere magical.

Is really very simple, you can do it either with buses that come from every direction or it would be better with your own vehicle because the whole surrounding area is really very interesting to visit.
