Sunrise Fish Restaurant, is located in Skala in the most southeast part of the beautiful Kefalonia island. Skala is one of the most expanding tourist resorts on the island, a village of fishermen and farmers on the sea that has managed to preserve its beautiful natural context.
Opened in 1991 by Mr. Victor Diakrousis in the last five years it has been taken over by his sons George who takes care of customer service and Andreas who is instead the chef and takes care of the kitchen. A family run handed down from the father where other family members also collaborate for the continuation of the activity.
Sunrise Fish Restaurant, is a simple environment but where the details are very important in order to offer its guests a relaxed atmosphere and a unique culinary experience.
The menu mainly focuses on fish dishes that comes directly from the fishing of one of George and Andreas' cousins who every day is concerned with supplying the kitchen with the best catch both from the point of view of freshness and quality. The family also produces olive oil and liqueurs directly and for about a couple of years also an excellent wine called Robola which can be found only and exclusively at the restaurant.
The main dish of Sunrise Fish Restaurant as we said is based on fish and the one most appreciated by guests is the fish plate for two people which usually includes (always depends on what was caught during the night) mussels, sardines, fried calamari, cod, grilled prawns and whoever has more. Many different proposals from tuna tartare to linguine with seafood to the classics of Greek cuisine such as fried aubergines and courgettes and the legendary tzatziki (yoghurt and cucumber sauce). In short, a wide choice to make your taste buds happy.
The location is truly striking, with the colors white and blue the color that identifies the Greek land and surely point in favor that it is right on the sea front. The service is courteous and polite and the staff will make you feel at home, pampering you and giving you the best advice on what to eat.
The value for money is excellent, then it always depends on what you decide to consume and you can also pay by credit card. Booking in the low season is not necessary, but during the peak period it is always better to make a phone call and reserve the table as Sunrise Fish Restaurant is always in great demand both by tourists and by the Kefalonia inhabitants.
