Kaminia Beach Zakynthos

Kaminia beach also called Porto Kaminia beach, we find it in the Vasilikos Peninsula in the south-eastern part of the beautiful Zakynthos Island. About ten kilometers to the north the beach of Argassi and seven the capital Zante Town.

It is practically the continuation of Porto Koukla which can also be reached with a nice walk and at the foot of the village of Xirocastello. It is equipped with not many sunbeds and umbrellas given the size of the coast, completely free there is only the obligation of at least one drink, a few taverns, one of which with tables right on the beach for something to drink and to taste the dishes of the classic greek and local cuisine rather than quick and light lunches. Here's nothing more, just relaxation and a lot of tranquility but on the other hand this is exactly what people usually look for for their holidays in Greece! Note that the landscape that surrounds it with beautiful views of the sea and the mountain as well as a rich and verdant vegetation around, contribute to relaxation.

The small mountain Xirokastellovillage is an excellent alternative during the hottest hours of the day. It is just a kilometer away and you can also reach it on foot if you wish. An idyllic place at one hundred and twenty meters above sea level that manages to offer breathtaking panoramic views of the Ionian Sea and the hills full of olive trees and maritime pines. There are some taverns where it is really worth stopping for truly genuine and rural food. Also worth visiting are two ancient monasteries, the Monastery of Xirokasteliotissa and the Monastery of the Holy Trinity which is located in the middle of a fairy forest called Loggos Tou Agiou.

From the beach of Porto Kaminia you can also reach other beaches with a particular charm such as Porto Zoro with its golden sand, a transparent sea and particular rock formations that magically emerge from the sea, Banana beach the largest on the Vasilikos Peninsula with its elongated shape and among the most popular on the Zante island for its excellent services, to go to the beach of Porto Roma, a small beach with a very clean sea but with colder waters than in other areas, to get to the beaches of Vasilikos and the wonderful Gerakas beach with its long strip of sand that ends with a small promontory, area protected by the Marine Park as the species of Caretta-Caretta turtles come to nest so as to be forbidden to the public during the hatching period from half an hour before sunset to half an hour after sunrise,

It is always better to have a rental car or scooter so as to be free to change destinations during the day.

If you are not independent, there are public bus rides but pay close attention to the routes and times that can change according to the seasons.

For a day of rest with a fantastic sea and a mountain air, the Porto Kaminia beach is certainly a place to be included among the things to do in Zakynthos.
