Psarou Beach Zakynthos

2 minutes to read

Psarou beach, we find it on the east coast of the Zakynthos Island more or less halfway between the regions of Amoudi and Tsilivi. The capital Zante Town is about twelve kilometers to the south. Also known as Ambula beach, it is two kilometers from the lively of Alykanas town and despite its popularity that grows every year as it has become a place to spend a holiday in Zakynthos in total tranquility, it has not yet changed its familiar and relaxed atmosphere.

However, let's say that the whole coast offers beautiful views of the Ionian Sea with a large number of small beaches connected to each other. Psarou beach has a coastline of soft clear sand, clean and clear waters, an intense and sparkling blue sea with gently sloping seabed perfect for families with small children and for swimming lovers. It is not equipped at all, only free places where you can choose the spot you like best, spread out your towel and enjoy a wonderful day at the beach.

As for the shade, let's say that there is none, better if you have your own umbrella if you want a little respite during the more than hot hours that reach very high temperatures especially in the summer. For many years it has been awarded the Blue Flag for the quality of its waters, a title that unfortunately was taken from it in 2018 but which we are sure it will buy back soon because it deserves it all. As for the catering, you will be spoiled for choice as to which tavern to choose to satisfy your hunger, behind the coast there are many typical restaurants where you can taste the delicacies of traditional Greek and local cuisine.

For those who want something lighter, there are bars that offer quick and non-binding meals. If for your holiday in Greece, you decide this area as a base, it will not be difficult to find some accommodation within reach of all budgets. The landscape surrounding the Psarou beach is ideal for moments of absolute relaxation, to be dedicated to the sea or to sunbathing. The nature that surrounds the bay is still intact and allows you to take a break with wonderful walks among trees and colorful flowers reaching Alykes. There are several best times to visit Psarou beach.

For example, to admire the fantastic color of the sea better in the afternoon after noon, when the waters take on a unique shade of electric blue, or at dawn to see the sun rising from the promontory and radiating a particular light, and finally at sunset when everything it turns orange, red or fuchsia maybe sitting with a nice cocktail in hand and getting lost with your gaze on the horizon.

How to reach Psarou Beach

If you have a rental vehicle, from any part of the island you decide to stay, the direction to take is eastwards following the main road and road signs. Once you arrive you can leave your car or your scooter directly on the road that frames the beach. If you love walking, on the other hand, you can go all the way from Alykes to Psarou.

Even by sea you can get there, in Zante Town by renting a small boat independently and making you the whole coast to discover more famous beaches rather than isolated coves where you could only be there.
