The beautiful Amorgos island is located right in the center of the immense Aegean Sea and we can consider it as the border between the north and the south of the Greek Islands. There is only one asphalt road that will take you from north to south through postcard-perfect mountain villages to beaches where you can abandon all worries and recharge your batteries. The island has a surface area of one hundred and twenty-one square kilometers and a population of around two thousand people, not counting the numerous cats that seem to have found a perfect environment here to spend their lives.

Its highest peak is Mount Kraukellos which stands up to eight hundred meters high, followed by the peak of Profiti Elias which reaches six hundred and ninety-eight, both reachable with a fantastic trekking path where once you reach the top you can admire a panorama to leave you breathless!

The main inhabited centers and where all the amenities are found are Katapola as well as the main and natural port of Amorgos in the south-eastern part of the island. The town is divided between three different inhabited centers, Rachidi, Xilokratidi and Katapola. Full of life, it is the most popular location for a holiday in Amorgos as it offers everything, from classic Cycladic style houses to small streets that intersect like a labyrinth, places for an elegant aperitif perhaps at sunset when the sun seems to dive into the sea, and also typical restaurants and taverns where you can taste local delicacies. Its seafront is closed to traffic from eight in the evening until two in the morning, allowing you to enjoy a beautiful walk in absolute safety. For a lazy day, Katapola also offers a beach that is certainly not among the most beautiful but certainly comfortable. Just above on the hill is the ancient city of Minoa where King Minos spent his summer holidays.

A visit is also obligatory to Chora, the capital of the island in the central part of Amorgos with its beautiful buildings and ideal for a young audience given its wonderful places where you can stay late and wait for the sun to rise. The third most important location is Aegiali, the second port of Amorgos to the north where you can also find beautiful sandy beaches.
